Hand-wrought sterling silver in an original design from California-based Midcentury Modern silversmith Allan Adler (1916-2002). Having first apprenticed under his father-in-law, the famed Arts and Crafts silversmith Porter Blanchard, Adler set up his studio on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles in 1940. Known as the “silversmith to the stars,” he created everything from a silver hairbrush for Winston Churchill to miniature Oscars for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Adler passed on his particular method of silversmithing to only two people: a craftsman who worked with Adler for 45 years, and his grandson, Danny Parsel, who continues to make his grandfather’s timeless designs today.
Each individual piece of Allan Adler flatware is made entirely by hand over the course of 15 different steps. Hand-forged and hand-hammered, the original design retains a special integrity and lasting quality unique to the artistry of silver.
