About

Rachel Prater, the founder of Gallery 925, has a passion for Georg Jensen silver that has been a lifelong journey. Growing up in New York City, Rachel's mother had an incredible influence on her—she would take Rachel to the city's galleries and museums, always making a special stop at the Georg Jensen shop on Madison Avenue. There, the two would marvel at the stunning handmade sterling silver jewelry, created by the designers of the Georg Jensen smithy. Rachel can still hear her mother saying, “This is silver to aspire to. It will last for generations, and its timeless essence will define the period.” Those words have stayed with Rachel, and they embody the enduring quality of the pieces she now cherishes and curates at Gallery 925.

After 20-years of working in the jewelry trade in both New York City and California, Rachel had the privilege of managing a department at the renowned Gump’s in San Francisco. There, she oversaw the largest collection of estate Georg Jensen silver on display in the country. Over the years, Rachel built exceptional collections for clients nationwide and participated in prestigious antique exhibitions in New York, Palm Beach, London, and San Francisco. Rachel also had the honor of contributing to museum exhibitions, including the 2019 Georg Jensen exhibition at the Art Institute of Chicago.

In 2011, Rachel realized her dream of founding Gallery 925. Located in New York City Manhattan Art and Antique Center, the gallery offers a carefully curated selection of vintage and contemporary handmade sterling silver from Georg Jensen and other renowned makers. Whether browsing online or visiting our gallery, we enjoy sharing our love for this remarkable artistry with others. We hope to continue the legacy of silver that will last for generations.
