**Porter Blanchard (1886-1973) was a 20th century California Silversmith who created handwrought silver known for its Arts and Crafts style and fine hand made quality. His work could be purchased at his studio as well as fine retailers such as Gump's in San Francisco. His Pacoima work shop closed in 1955. His son-in-law Louis Wise who apprenticed with Blanchard opened a silversmithy in Calabasas, California where he continued making the Porter Blanchard flatware patterns. His other son-in law also became a well known silversmith Alan Adler.
Examples of Porter Blanchard's work can be seen in the Oakland Museum of Art.
