Evald Nielsen Sterling Silver Exceptionally Rare Art Nouveau Teapot from 1919.
This is one of the best examples of Evald Nielsen's work I have ever seen. Richly detailed and entirely hand wrought. Hand chased with stylized leaves and berries and visible hand hammering throughout . Smooth ebony handle firmly set in silver "leaves" at the body of the pot.
Generous proportions at 9.5" across the handle x 6" across the body and 6" H. Charming leaf and berry feet and hinged lid with domed top. When holding this masterpiece, one has the sense that there was enormous joy in creating such a work of art in silver. This is a teapot to use, enjoy and admire for generations to come.
Excellent original condition. Extremely well cared for with no sign of restoration.
