Evald Nielsen 830 Master Brooch with Moonstones
An excellent example of a very large silver and moonstone master brooch by Evald Nielsen. Throughout his life Evald Nielsen was characterized by highly skilled craftsmanship and naturalistic art nouveau designs. This piece has all those qualities. Moonstones are vivid and opalescent blue.
This example bears the marks of the retailer S.L. Jacobsen in Copenhagen who sold Evald Nielsen's works from 1910. This example is also listed in catalogues of Evald Nielsen's jewelry designs.
The brooch measures 3.5" H x 2.875" W and has drops that measure 1.25".
