Intricately cast and pierced chain link segments, hand linked depicting fleur de lis, figural bambini within oval frames, and flowers. The swaddled bambini (baby) motif was designed during the Italian renaissance by Andrea della Robbia in 1421 for the facade of the Ospedale degli Innocenti and this motif has been repeated in design elements such a jewelry, furniture and other material culture.
