Estate Porter Blanchard Sterling Silver "Modern Scroll" Expansive Flatware Service of 12 (228 Pieces)
Hand wrought in Circa 1930 by Porter Blanchard, renowned California Silversmith who catered to the new wealth in the early part of the 20th century.
Factory was later taken over by Allan Adler who was Porter Blanchard’s son-in-law.
Blanchard's works are in the collections of various museums, including the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and the Oakland Museum of California.
Many eccentric never before seen pieces are in this handsome set.
Very heavy; solid silver knife handles .
Each piece is handmade cut out and pounded out from a bar of sterling.
