Georg Jensen Hallmark 1908-1915
Share
From 1908 to 1915 the Georg Jensen Silversmithy had great success as it expanded into the German market, and moved to a larger production facility. Like many artisans, the onslaught of WWI proved disastrous. Jensen was fortunate to recover lost sales when his work was recognized at the 1915 World Exhibition in San Francisco.
In addition to the conjoined 'G' and 'J' and 'G.i.' marks, the hallmark 'GEORG JENSEN' is often added during this period. From 1911 to 1914 production graduated from 826S to 830S. Some pieces were also marked with 'COPENHAGEN' during this time.
