Ibe Dahlquist (1924-1996) known as a prominent contemporary silversmith, began by studying at the Swedish School of Arts, Crafts, and Design in Stockholm. Soon after she started her silver workshop with Olof Barve. Their breakthrough came in the mid-50’s with the exhibition “Contemporary Jewelry” where they exhibited a series set in silver with fossils and rocks from Gotland beaches.
Since 1965 she designed for the Georg Jensen silversmithy where she created austere modernist jewelry. Rhythmic patterns and repeated elements were present in her designs.
