Vivianna Torun Circa 1960 Very Rare Purple Glass Drop with Neck Ring from the Biot, France Period

This design was later modified for the Georg Jensen company. The drop here is larger and a grayish purple, with a more elongated drop. Torun  purchased these glass pieces at the Paris flea market then shaped and buffed them to her liking.  At that time, Torun made pieces for Billie Holiday, Abby Lincoln and the jazz circuit. She had a great following in Paris and Sweden, her native country. She also exhibited her works along side Pablo Picasso at his museum in Antibes in 1958.  Her workshop at the time was in her house with a few apprentices and artist friends from Sweden who would come and visit.
